Bio
Sareena Crawford (She/Her) is a PhD student in History with a Designated Emphasis in Feminist Theory and Research at the University of California, Davis. She is currently working on a social history dissertation that focuses on kinship structures of formerly enslaved Black women and their descendants in rural Northern California during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Crawford was the winner of the 2025 Drusilla Dunjee Houston Memorial Scholarship Award for the best unpublished, original essay in Black women's history from the Association of Black Women Historians.
