Dissertation and Examination Requirements

The student's qualifying examination and dissertation must incorporate gender or feminism as a central category of analysis. Additionally, one member of the QE and dissertation committees must be a member of the DE. Many times, this will be the same person, but this is not required. Students will work with their Ph.D. program graduate advisor along with their QE and dissertation chair to select a member of the DE to be on their committees.

Upon completion of the qualifying examination, students are responsible for notifying the FTR DE Chair of their advancement to candidacy status.
