Bio

Leila Easa, MFA, is a PhD student in English at UC Davis pursuing designated emphases in Feminist Theory and Research and Environmental Humanities. Her broad areas of focus include gender and ethnic studies, poetics, elegy, and protest in the context of twentieth-century and contemporary American literature. Born to a Palestinian American father and Southern mother, Leila is interested in regional identities and the complex relationship Palestinians have to the concept of “home.” She is coauthor (with Dr. Jennifer Stager) of Public Feminism in Times of Crisis: From Sappho's Fragments to Viral Hashtags (2022), and the two are currently working on a project focusing on reproductive justice in the aftermath of Roe v. Wade. Leila also teaches in the English and Women's and Gender Studies departments at City College of San Francisco.
