Jan Wagstaff (she/her/hers) is a PhD Candidate at the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis, where her dissertation examines domestic violence among women experiencing homelessness. She holds an MSW from California State University, Sacramento; an MA in Women’s Studies from Loughborough University, UK; and a BA (Honors) in Social & Cultural Studies from the University of Nottingham, UK. A Licensed Clinical Social Worker, she works in the UC Davis Health Emergency Department, providing crisis intervention to patients experiencing psychiatric crises and trauma. Her scholarship focuses on domestic violence, trauma, homelessness, and women’s health. Her publications include peer-reviewed research on immigrant mental health and a book chapter on violence in childhood.
