Courtney Pollard is an English Ph.D. student at UC Davis. She specializes in early modern English literature and is interested in women writers and gender, literacy studies, cultural geography and digital humanities. She received her M.A. in English from Colorado State University in 2015 and her B.A. in English and philosophy from the University of South Florida in 2011. Her master’s project explored how seventeenth-century English broadside ballads are a type of multimedia that helped create public forms of literacy.
