Graduate Student in English Literature with D.E in Feminist Theory and Research
Averyl Dietering entered the English PhD program in 2014 after completing an MA in English at the University of Arizona in 2014 and a BA in English at Brigham Young University in 2012. She studies early modern British literature through the lenses of gender and sexuality studies and queer theory. Her first article, "Pregnant Monarchs, English Protestantism, and The Innocent Usurper," is forthcoming in Restoration Volume 40.1, and combines her interests in early modern drama, reading women's bodies, and gender performativity. Averyl is also interested in the queer history of Mormonism and its influence on contemporary LGBTQIA+ Mormons.
