Graduate Student in Sociology with D.E in Feminist Theory and Research
Abbey is a PhD student in Sociology with a designated emphasis in Feminist Research and Theory. She received her B.A. in Sociology from the University of Georgia in 2016. Her research encompasses the areas of gender, sexuality, and family. More specifically, Abbey is interested in how sexually-fluid people perform their identities and navigate their roles as parents and care-givers. She aims to expand the current literature on queer families, which mostly focuses on gay and lesbian households, to include bisexuals and other sexually-fluid individuals.
